Character Swap Video Pro
Swaps the character in your video for the person in a single photo. This is a true video edit at 4K: the original background, camera, lighting, other people and on-screen details stay in place instead of being regenerated, and the output keeps your clip's own length, aspect ratio and framing. Original audio is kept by default. Source clip must be 3-15s, at least 720px and 24fps. Works best on a single continuous shot with one clear main character.

AI Character Swap: Replace Characters in Any Video
Aitopia's AI Character Swap replaces an entire character in a video - not just the face, the whole person. Upload a source video and a single reference image of the new character, and the AI handles full-body swap while preserving motion, framing, and lighting. Useful for creative storytelling, video pre-vis, and any project where you need to recast video without reshooting.
What Is the AI Character Swap?
AI Character Swap is the full-body version of face swap. Where face swap modifies only the face, character swap replaces the entire visible character - body, outfit, and proportions - across every frame. The model preserves the original character's motion, position, and lighting while replacing what's visible with the new reference.
How Aitopia's AI Character Swap Works
Three steps from source video to fully swapped character.
1. Upload Source Video
The clip with the character you want replaced. Front-facing or three-quarter angles produce the strongest swaps; complex motion can introduce artifacts.
2. Upload Character Reference
A single clear photo of the new character - full body if possible, or a strong portrait. The AI uses this to construct the swapped figure.
3. Generate Swapped Video
Output preserves the original's motion and timing. The new character moves the way the original did, just with different appearance.
Common Use Cases
Creative storytelling. Cast yourself as a movie character, swap friends into iconic scenes, or build creative narratives without traditional production.
Pre-visualization for filmmakers. Test how different talent might look in an existing scene before booking a reshoot or recasting.
Character continuity in productions. Maintain visual continuity when an actor isn't available for a reshoot or when characters need to age across timelines.
Educational and demonstration content. Replace presenters in training material to align with brand identity or localization needs.
Why Choose Aitopia's AI Character Swap
Full-body replacement. Beyond face swap - outfit, body proportions, and movement style are all replaced consistently.
Motion preservation. The new character moves with the original's timing and gestures. Output reads as the new person performing, not the old performance with a mask.
Single-image reference. One photo of the new character is enough. No video reference needed.
Tips for Better Results
- Strong, clean reference photos of the new character produce the most consistent swaps.
- Front-facing source videos with clear body visibility work best.
- Avoid extreme motion or occlusion in the source - both confuse the model.
- Match reference character framing to source - full-body source needs full-body reference.
- For commercial use, document consent from the new character clearly.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How is this different from face swap?
- Face swap replaces only the face. Character swap replaces the entire visible person - body, outfit, motion style.
- Does the reference need to be a video?
- No - a single photo is sufficient. Multiple reference angles can produce stronger swaps for complex scenes.
- Can I swap pets or non-human subjects?
- Yes, though the agent is tuned for human subjects. Pet morphs work better in the dedicated Pet Morph Wizard.
